How To Recognise A Painting Scam When You See One

How To Recognise A Painting Scam When You See One

By Justin DiMateo

It is very unfortunate for genuine business owners that people within their particular industry set about to scam honest citizens of their hard earned money. They do this by providing false or misleading information, and when contracted to do a particular job, they simply can't follow through with the service that is expected. Sometimes they may even take the money and run, leaving you high and dry.

There are ways to tell if the company you are dealing with may perhaps not be as legitimate as it was first thought. Most companies will have an online presence, contact phone numbers, a physical office space and a painting van. Searching through the various services on offer at the different websites will help you separate some of the possible painting scams from the real deal painters, who will conduct themselves professionally and who will complete a job that both they, and you, are proud of.

If you are searching online and you come across a site that has received many bad reviews, this would be a fairly obvious sign that's there is something wrong within the structure of the company and the quality of service it provides. If the owners of the site have not provided a contact telephone number, or they ask for money up-front, then this would also be an indication that something is awry.

When you are looking to hire a painter for your house or place of business, it will be necessary to obtain a few different quotes before you make your final decision. This is the perfect opportunity for you to ask all of the important questions in regards to the work you need carried out. If the contractor seems unwilling to provide answers, or is even unsure in their answers, it is important to go with your gut instinct, and move on.

There will be painters that charge less than others and this does not always mean that the level of service will also be lower than that of another company. If however, you think a price is way too cheap, it could very well be the case and your painting project may not proceed as planned. Instead you could find the job is either never started, or left half finished, and the result will be even worse if you have paid some, or all, of the money up-front.

Look for the number of years experience that the painting company has, and look for examples of their previous work. This is a great way to separate the possible scammers from the professionals. It will give you a good indication of the quality you should be expecting, and you should expect nothing except the best.

It is possible for everyone to spot and avoid a painting scam, and doing so will ensure you choose a reputable company, for a good price, to complete the painting work you require.
